La Cala de Mijas
La Cala de Mijas is just a short 30 minute drive from Malaga Airport with Airport Transfers Malaga. Transfers are from as little as 40€ for up to 4 people. La Cala is an ever expanding town whilst keeping its charm.
Cala de Mijas is a town in the municipality of Mijas,in the province of Malaga,which is located in the autonomous community of Andalusia,in the south of Spain.
In the heart of the Costa del Sol,La Cala de Mijas is located in the coastal area of the municipality, except for some rocks between the boundaries of Fuengirola, to the east and Marbella, to the west. Cala de Mijas is a small population centre less than one kilometre long.
With a population of more than 4,000 inhabitants, the town is dedicated to sun and beach and residential tourism, although it has some municipal services such as health centres, schools, house of culture and library, which are located in La Cala de Mijas and that, although located in that municipality, are intended for all residents of the coastal area of the municipality of Mijas.
La Cala holds a twice weekly Market on the Feria ground on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Selling everything from clothes, leather goods, local pottery and much more, it’s a must visit for any tourist or resident to get those last minute gifts or souvenirs.
La Cala de Mijas has some great beaches for you to top up your tan. There are great views across the Mediterranean to people watch or watch to ships go by.
La Cala is home to numerous great bars and restaurants. The most popular is Olivia’s a great all round venue that you can see some famous people, Airport Transfers Malaga and Malacab can transfer you to and from there during your stay. The TV chef Steve Saunders has one of his restaurants there, the Little Geranium a very popular restaurant. There are also many other great restauants in the area to cater for all tastes.
